Family Bereavement Checklist

The loss of a loved one can be an extremely difficult experience, and dealing with the practicalities that come after their passing can be difficult to manage and understand.

We acknowledge the grief and the significance of offering support after the loss of aloved one. We strive to ease some of the burdens by providing guidance and help at every stage. We have been in business since 1903 and bring over a century of experience to assist in making your service as easy as possible.

In order to assist you in managing the practical responsibilities that arise following the death of a loved one, we have created a Family Bereavement Checklists.

Our checklist acts as a guide outlining the necessary steps involved to ensure funeral requirements are handled appropriately.

We understand that each family's grieving process is different, as such, we are dedicated to delivering personalised support for your unique situation.

If you have any further queries, please don't hesitate to get in touch to discuss your family's needs.

Do you need us to provide a soloist and accompanist for the funeral service? We have a list of accomplished church singers at your disposal.

Once booked the soloist will liaise directly with the family regarding music requirements, in the meantime please see the attached list of song suggestions.
Do you require a family car to bring family to the funeral service? Please note that at the moment funeral cars will only take six passengers.
We will guide you in the choosing of a coffin. Coffins can be viewed in the funeral home or a selection of the most popular choices online on our website at www.mcentaggarts.ie or via brochure during a home visit as required.
Would you like us to assist with floral arrangements? We are happy to guide you on this and provide whatever you may require. Flowers can be ordered on our website www.mcentaggarts.ie
Please let us know if you require Mass booklets or bookmarks for the Funeral Service.
Please let us know if you require a live broadcast of the funeral Service.

Some churches have this facility in situ but others do not and in these cases we can hire a company that provides the service.

Normally we then add a link to the RIP.ie notice for people wishing to watch the Mass online.
An increasing number of people are choosing to have non-religious funeral services for their loved ones.

We are happy to assist and advise you if this is your preference.
